It appears St. Kate's...

Is just a school, not an education!

at least they said no to both parties. It would have bothered me if they would have said no to one but yes to the other.

Christianity does not tremble before discussion but before ignorance - Pope Saint Pius X

Do nothing, expect nothing. Bravo students!

Predictable Part of College Expereince

College students and college administrators have been clashing on campuses all over the nation for more than a generation over a wide range of political issues. It is a predictable part of the growth process of students, and a predictable mine field for administrators. As a St Kate's alum, I have enormous admiration for the atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual respect that exists at the school. And I'll add that for a Catholic institution, St Kate's is particularly successful in maintaining a welcoming environment for students of all faiths and political beliefs.

Since when

do students get to demand anything. Let them voice their opinions, and if they continue in a more disruptive way then that the administration will need to act in an appropriate manner. Students have a right to their opinion, but need to know that they do not run the school.

St. Kate's is a private Catholic institution. They can do whatever they want!

They can have whoever they want speak at their college. The Catholic Church is based on right to life, helping people who practice homosexual acts get counseling and do confession before receiving communion and other wonderful Christian ideals.

The timeline is important

A fine line is at what point did they decide partison appearence are not allowed around an election time? They brought in liberal speakers in the not too distant past.

Would you stop and read this please?

http://minerva.stkate.edu/news_events.nsf/stories/JCMR-7KNQT6?OpenDocument St. Kate's president writes about the issue. AFTER you've read it, then feel free to blast away (or feel chagrined).

RE: "The Catholic Church is based on right to life, helping people who practice homosexual acts"

The only thing there based on is $$$$. St Kates is only worried about the money since current students "already bought in" and treating them fairly doesn't really matter.
