A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Widseth was a farmboy-turned-All-America tackle from 1934 to '36. The team went 23-1 during that span. From 1924 through 1948, Widseth, of Berner, Minn., northwest of Bemidji, was the only Gopher to make the National Football Foundation's 11-man All-America squad.
