Sometimes as many as 400 people are waiting when the shelter opens, and Mary Jo Copeland greets each one. Sharing and Caring Hands Shelter serves more than 6,000 meals a week. Mary's Place transitional housing facility has 56 apartments and is adding another 36 units to house up to 600 people.
