| Office: | Andover City Council member |
Other candidates in this race: |
| Incumbent: | Yes | |
| City of residence: | Andover | |
| Background: | Most of the development, growth, and change has taken place since I have been in office. Our population has more than doubled, to 32,000 people. We have a new high school, community center, trail system, and major commercial development. I want to continue that progress. | |

| Most important issue: | The biggest problem facing Andover is the downturn in the economy. Due to the market crisis we are faced with a number of housing foreclosures. That has led to a downward spiral of home values; which in turn effects taxes and the ability of the city to provide goods and services. As a result, cities will have to operate in a very lean, efficient manner and work hard to stay within budgetary limits. We will have to deal with the large number of empty houses which invite theft and vandalism. I am not in favor of raising taxes as a solution. |
