| Most important issue: | One of many important issues is student achievement. Our efforts in this area include: adopting new curriculum for math and language arts, implementing computerized testing that provides immediate feedback to teachers and parents, hiring a data specialist to ensure teachers have assessment results, participating in the Region 11 Metro Area Math and Science Teachers Academy. Knowing that high quality instruction leads to improved student achievement, we initiated a rigorous, research-based professional development program. These are important accomplishments that have yielded good results, but they are just part of our journey to achieve academic excellence. |
