My brother, my brother, he says as his life ebbs away from the gunshot through his abdomen. Shot by Kurdish militia, he is one of two soldiers from the Fedayeen Saddam militia who had driven out from behind the clouds of a burning orange fireball in the Kirkuk oil fields with death on their minds.
