| March 31: Engaged in a raid for Al Hindiyah, U.S. Army soldiers from the 7th Infantry Regiment are battling for a bridge over the Euphrates when - through the smoke - they see an elderly woman. She had tried to race across the bridge when the Americans arrived, but was caught in the crossfire. After soldiers toss a smoke grenade for more cover, medics race to get the woman out of danger and into an armored ambulance. | |
