| 11:22 a.m., Fort Snelling National Cemetery: Relatives and friends of Tom Burnett Jr. gathered at his grave for a moment of silence. Presiding was Tom Burnett Sr., far right, who lost his son when passengers on United Flight 93 revolted against hijackers and the plane crashed in Pennsylvania. Later, at the Mall of America, the family visited a sculpture dedicated to their son. It contains elements of the U.S. flag and a door representing the obstacles the passengers overcame. "I like it because Tommy kicked down the door and got in the cockpit," she said. "Now the door is for us. We're going to get called upon" in the fight against terrorism. |
