Bob Dylan, Forest Hills, N.Y., 1965

Photographer Daniel Kramer: "This was the moment he was going to expose himself electronically to his own audience. It was his new sound. It was a very important, scary moment. He had told his backup people, 'Don't worry about what happens. We may get booed. But we have to do our thing.' The first half was acoustic alone with solo guitar. After intermission, there he was, ready on the stage, with the footlights, and he was poised to start the second set. To me, he looks, with the feathered backlit hair, like a centurion guard in a helmet. I see him as this standing-alone - I hate to use the expression a warrior - this standing-alone guy who has to face what he believes in, even though it was not going to be perhaps fully accepted by everyone."
